No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Web Hosting
We have tackled the matter of silent data corruption on all of our web hosting servers by using the modern Z file system, or ZFS. The latter is better than other file systems as it is the only one in existence that checks all files right away by employing a checksum - a digital identifier that is unique for each file. When you upload content to your account, it'll be stored on several NVMe drives and frequently synchronized between them for redundancy. ZFS constantly examines the checksum of all files and in case any file is detected as damaged, it's replaced instantly with a good copy from another disk. As this happens in real time, there is no risk that a bad file may remain or may be duplicated on the other NVMes. ZFS needs lots of physical memory in order to carry out the real-time checks and the benefit of our cloud website hosting platform is that we take advantage of multiple very powerful servers working together. In case you host your sites with us, your information will be intact no matter what.
No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you obtain one of our semi-dedicated hosting packages, you will not have to be concerned about silent file corruption since we use ZFS - an advanced file system which keeps track of all the files in real time. Each time you upload a file to your account, ZFS will assign a unique digital fingerprint to it - the so-called checksum. The file will be synced between a couple of NVMe drives for redundancy, so if one drive fails, the other ones will take over. ZFS compares the checksum of all copies on the different drives and when it detects a damaged copy, it replaces it with a healthy one from another drive. This is done right away, so there will be no danger for any part of your content at any moment. In comparison, all of the other file systems perform checks after a system breakdown, but since they don't use anything similar to the checksums which ZFS uses, they are unable to detect silently corrupted files, so a bad copy may be replicated on the rest of the drives as well and you may lose critical info. Since this is not the case with ZFS, we guarantee the integrity of every single file you upload no matter what.
